It was my great pleasure to be selected as a speaker at this year’s Microsoft Project Conference. I had over 80 people attend my session so I was very happy but also nervous. It was my first time presenting at an event like this so it was a real pleasure. Microsoft organized a training session with Dux Raymond Sy to give the speakers some tips and tricks in how to become a better presenter. Dux managed to get an audience in Japan to perform Gangnam style which is quite some feat. I decided that as my session was named ‘Wave Planning with Project Server’ I would have the crowd do a ‘Wave’; (we Brits call this the Mexican Wave). I was very happy that everyone in the audience participated! Check out the video here! I attended some great sessions by Cindy Lewis, Prasanna Adavi, Andrew Lavinski, and of course Dux Raymond Sy who stole the stage with his amazing presentation skills and of course we did rock out to some Gangnam Style! I especially enjoyed the ‘Chalk talk’ sessions in which attendees had the chance to quiz the Microsoft Project product team. There was also members of the Microsoft Consulting Team (yes there are still some unicorns out there) taking part answering questions. I found these sessions to be very interesting. Outside of these great sessions I had the chance to meet with the partners in the exhibitor hall. It was great to put a lot of faces to names. Thankfully It was not all work and no play. Microsoft organized a great evening event at the House of Blues Anaheim. There was a live band karaoke in which Tony Zink and I were among the first to take to the stage. We felt like EPM Rock stars check out my version of a Beatles classic here and Tony’s version of Sweet Home Alabama here
I would like to thank everyone who made the event possible, especially the Microsoft team it was the best organized even that I have ever attended.
